Moving Forward in Hope

Those moments where you just perfectly align everything amaze me beyond belief. I can’t even begin to comprehend how you line everything up so perfectly. You knew that I was struggling. Yesterday, I had an opportunity to talk with my therapist. It was difficult, but definitely needed. I knew what my plan was going forward and I knew it would be challenging.

Last night, I took a couple of steps. I reached out to my small group and told them that I had been struggling. Not even two minutes later, I see that there was a rainbow. Eventually, it turned into a double rainbow. That rainbow lasted 20 minutes! Who has seen a rainbow last that long? A song came into my head and I instantly knew that I needed to cry that song out to you. The song was “How Great is Our God”. I stood at the window looking at the rainbow and singing that song. Just as the song was finishing, the rainbow perfectly faded away.

It was in that moment that I realize that you made that for me. I felt like I didn’t deserve the rainbow. However, I knew that I needed the rainbow to start fresh again. I have been so distant and sad. The rainbow was a song of your ever lasting love and continued presence. It was just enough to give me hope that you do indeed help us through the most challenging of storms. I chose to move forward with that hope that the rainbow gave me.
