Seen – Part 4: Always

Before you were born, I knew you. I made all of you and knit you together in your mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13). I know the number of hairs on your head (Luke 12:7). I know all of this, because I created human beings in my image (Genesis 1:27). I know when you sit down or stand up. I know your thoughts no matter how far away you are. I see you when you travel and when you are at home. I know everything you do. I know what you are going to say before you say it (Psalm 139:2-4). I know so much about you. When you feel weak, I can give you strength. When you sin, I provide you with forgiveness. When you feel worthy, I share my love with you. When you feel sad, I can give you peace. When you are hurting, I give you my healing powers. When you are lonely, I will never leave you.

It is so hard not to watch you. I see you every single time. No matter where you go or what you do, I see you. Even when you feel small an insignificant I am right there beside you. I see all of you. I love all of you. I created you.

When Eve and Adam chose to eat the apple, I still saw them. Yes, I was disappointed, but I still saw them. When I asked Moses to take the people of Israel out of Egypt and he didn’t feel worthy of the task, he felt that he couldn’t speak clearly, and he felt that they wouldn’t listen to him. I saw him through it. I showed him that I was there for him by responding to his cries as to why he wasn’t capable of performing what I asked him to.

My son Jesus told this story: If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them gets lost, what will he do? Won’t he leaven the ninety-nine others in the wilderness and go to search for the one that is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he will joyfully carry it home on his shoulders. When he arrives, he will call together his friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.’ In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away! (Luke 15:3-7).
I see you even when you still hadn’t chosen me. I will chase after you because I care about you.

This is the truth that I want you to know. I see you. I see you all the time. It is so hard for me not to watch you and to not see you. No matter where you go, no matter what you do, I see it all. I rejoice when you choose me. I give you strength when you feel weak. I provide you with forgiveness of sins. I promise a life with me once you accept me and hand over your life to me.
